The Rise : Where our story begins..

November 2012, where it all begins. To those who have walked with us from the darkest time of our Second Life, today we find nothing is impossible when we set the right attitude, positive mindset and perseverance. Adonis Heights is the symbol of survival and strength to most of us.

The Rise Apartment, the name we choose for the rebuilding of the first residential towers which to some has sentimental values and wished that this historical build to be maintained and stand tall to remind us the hardship and determination towards success.

"I am almost in tears when some of the residents approached me and wished that the tower to stay and not to be demolished fully as Adonis Heights would like to continue to grow and looking for ways to optimize its resources, no doubt the towers consume a lot of our resources in terms of maintenance and land impact overall, but the Adonis Heights management team decided to rebuild the tower and improvise its features as to remind us the first step we took in molding a new peaceful community, well now it become the historical landmark for Adonis Heights", explained Daemyn Parx.

The Rise Apartment, made possible by a well known mesh architect, Tyler Scarborough of  Dynamic Evolution is the first residential unit in Adonis Heights launched in January 2013.

The Frasera - A new definition for Eco-Minimalist @ Adonis

OCT 2nd, Adonis Heights : The long awaited and most anticipated new apartment at Adonis Heights has been announced to start the 3 days booking process for the residents and public. With the sim concept of Eco-modern with the presence of Minimalist design inspired by several well known creators and builders in Second Life, Daemyn Parx define as tribute to the creativity of the people.

"It's very enlightening to know that more and more creative and new products or builds has started to enter the Second Life market despite the slowdown we have faced in the previous years. As Adonis Heights is hunger for new creative ideas, we will always continue to improvise and revise our standards to meet and exceed the benchmark. We are positive through The Frasera, it will give us inspiration to plan something new in the near future".

Asking about the latest development of Adonis Heights Boys Academy, Daemyn describe it as growing slowly but sure. "We have just re-organize our group structure and identify certain subjects that can be potentially developed. We have built an online registration system to identify interested students and soon introduce several innovative and creative approach to enhance the academy RP experience yet educational".

The Frasera has limited units available and rental starts from L$500 / week. The booking is based on first come first serve basis and priorities given to the current active resident.

Expand Your Musical Horizons

Have you hidden behind the boundaries of a single music genre all your life? Is your MP3 / CD collection boring & scarce? Have you started to notice that all the music that commercially successful seems like variations on a single theme that you are getting tired of?

Well here's how to offer your ears a new and ever-changing menu of music.

1.   Listen to Internet / Online Music Station e.g: Adonis Heights Radio. Browse all kind of stations (International, rap, hip-hop, electronica, alternative, blues, soundtracks, jazz, and so on. Let them play in the background while you browse the web, answer emails etc. 

2.   Never too shy to ask interesting people what they listened to. They will be delighted to share their musical taste with you, if you are actually curious. Add a twist to your questions like:

·        If you had to choose one song to summarize your life, what would it be?

·        Has a song made you cry?

·        If you were to make a soundtrack to your life, what would it be on it?

3.   Take time to listen to whole album. Often an artist or group puts out one or two singles that engage popular appeal but are uncharacteristic of their work. And quite commonly the jewels of music are buried in albums far away from radio play. So if a catchy singles draws you in, don’t be surprised if the rest of the album aren’t just like it.

4.   Try to listen to an album / streaming radio more than once. Well some says it’s best to listen to at least three times before you throw it to the shelf; especially the genre you don’t normally listened to. Trust me, by the third time around, you could very well be singing along and listening carefully to the lyrics, well not necessarily need to go up to three times in a row – just make sure you have given it the full benefit of the doubt before you toss it.

5.   Let’s go underground! Find out who is the DJ around, and where they spin. Visit venues that features these DJs i.e. Unity, Adonis Heights, T.R.A.C.S etc where you can listen to great music. Even the DJ or genre you have never heard of, listening and joining the gig with friends can make a believer out of you, and change your listening perspective!

Dear friends,

Adonis Heights is an adult / matured sim. Hence the community is bounded by Linden Labs (Grid) Terms of Service (ToS) and we seek everyone attention to this as of late we observed the traffic to the sim consist of a mixture of people.

Adonis Heights welcome everyone to visit the sim as we are an open community. We believe our residents and community are able to act accordingly as an adult & matured individuals.

We would like to highlight the matter about child avatars. Adonis Heights welcomes child avatars within the sim with conditions. It is advisable for the individuals to abide with the terms to ensure the comfort of the community and the sim is expected to adhere to the Grid terms and regulations.

Please read the guide below for your kind reference:

Policies towards child avatars are largely focused on the actions of the avatars, not the avatars themselves.

1. Child avatars are allowed within Second Life. A child avatar, even within a mature or adult region (but not participating in adult (in this case, sexual) activities is allowed.

2. A child avatar is allowed do everything any other avatar is, with the following exceptions:

Child avatars participating in any sexual situations are not allowed and abuse report able (AR-able).

3. Public promotion (classified listing, profile, etc.) of sexual situations with child avatars is not allowed and AR-able.

4. Creating areas for the purpose of sexual age-play is not allowed and is AR-able. This includes having items with sexual content (sexual pose balls or equipment) in proximity to items traditionally associated with children (swing sets, etc.)

5. Indicating that the *real age* of a child avatar (as opposed to a stated SL/role playing age) is below main grid age (18 years old) is not allowed and AR-able.

Child avatar nudity has been called into question as well. While no language specific to nudity was included in the initial policies, child avatar nudity of the genital or chest regions, including in otherwise non-sexual situations (skin vendors, for example) can be a violation.

This also applies to parcel descriptions: nudity or "clothing optional" language can not be included in a parcel description on a kid-specific area.

Note that child avatars are allowed on PG, Mature, and even Adult public parcels, provided with the latter that they are adult verified. Note that this does not necessarily apply to private parcels where one has the option to eject or ban as desired.

Life is a Journey, The Art of Adonis Heights Community

Friends of Adonis Heights,

The idea of community is not a new concept in our daily life.What's becoming a trend now is when the world is adapting to a new form of community that is connected and networked on a single platform instead of the conventional way whereby a community is defined by as a group from a single geographical location.

In the world today, with the booming of known as social networking, it is no longer something exclusive but rather I can say to some extend a necessity. People connects, business use it as a tool, looking for lovers, and even professional job posting. It is the most addictive and viral tool that comes with a great power and responsibility of course.

At Adonis Heights, as part of its Blue Ocean strategy, we always wanted to do things differently. I won't say it never be done by anyone, only this might not be the most popular approach as it requires consistency and effort to make the clock works.

What is the art behind Adonis Heights approach or is there any secret behind it? Well if it is a secret, for sure I will not share with anyone, however in my humble opinion, good knowledge will not expand if it is kept to the bearer. A great educator in this case, is those who openly share the secrets and create a new one as he sees his surrounding starts to improve. The cycle continues and that is how the community evolve from one state to another.

The Adonis Heights Committee aware of this vision and they constantly looking for area of improvement in their portfolio. Seeking what else we want to add value to the community that will create ripples in Second Life as a whole. Our members chooses the path of peace and seeking for harmony through moderation slowly help the group to groom new positive leaders that will helm the group objective, seeking potential to be developed and contribute back to the community that is not defined by the tag we are wearing, or differences in belief and ideals, nurturing respect and treating each other the way we want to be treated.

That is the art we are painting on Adonis Heights canvas.

In conjunction to this, we have pre-open the new additions of Adonis Heights community service, the Adonis Heights Gallery. We are hoping this will invite original artist out there to display their art for public viewing. It is open to all art lovers to share their masterpiece and creativity.

We would like to invite everyone to see our first set of exhibit, the STAND4LOVE@ADONIS, opening today. We are looking forward to display more original art from creative artist out there from photography to painting, modern art or vector drawings. The gallery is located [HERE]

Allow me to share with everyone the story behind this event. At first, the event was planned for a small gathering as our community usual Saturday event. Only what makes it different is the way how Adonis Heights team carried their work as we always try to give our level best in everything we do. It starts with the usual marketing hype for the event. This has indeed attracted the STAND4LOVE committee members who have decided to acknowledged our humble support as a great contribution to the cause.

Indeed on personal level, I am very motivated and positively driven by the spirit of the team to steer Adonis Heights consistently towards its main goal; to be a Preferred Global Social, Education and Entertainment provider for the Second Life community by creating value through positive connections with the society.

Adonis Heights Support STAND4LOVE cause.

The fight for equal rights for the GLBT community has been a long struggle though each progress made has been a victory. Recently, Gays and Lesbians are NOW able to serve in the United States Armed Forces without being harassed or expelled as they had been for years.  Can you even believe it that a United States President Obama supports Marriage Equality for everyone at the risk of losing his Presidential Re-election? I believe times are changing for the better and everyone is starting to realize that people should be granted basic human civil rights that most people just take for granted. The right to love and marry should be available to any adult couples in a loving relationship who just wants to build a life together. Why is this too much to ask?

There are still gay confused kids committing suicides all over the world because they are being harassed and bullied. Gay people are still being unfairly discriminated at their jobs and communities. They are being attacked and killed on the streets for being who they are. Some parts of the world, they are being jailed and persecuted by the government. WHY IS THIS STILL HAPPENING IN THE WORLD TODAY???

STAND4LOVE strongly supports Marriage Equality for everyone because people need to see that gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgendered people are human beings too, who are capable to love and be in committed long term loving healthy relationships. I just think we all are human beings with the same heart wanting to love and be loved in return.

Mile-wide tornado reportedly rips through North Texas.

Authorities searched for survivors Thursday after a powerful storm system that spawned multiple tornadoes tore through two North Texas neighborhoods, killing at least six.

It is reported as of daybreak, 14 people were missing in the town of Granbury, which is just outside Fort Worth. It was not clear if they were missing or were away from the area for other reasons. Utility officials say about 20,000 homes and businesses have lost electricity (Source: Fox News)



North Texas residents began to take in the devastation on Thursday wreaked by a series of tornadoes that killed six and injured dozens more in what Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds described as a “nightmare” scenario. 

The death toll could grow, with 14 people remaining unaccounted for, Deeds told a news conference in the early morning hours of Thursday.  About 100 people were reported injured and as many as 250 were homeless after the swarm of twisters that ripped up trees and knocked down homes. 

Granbury, a town of 8,000 about 65 miles southwest of Dallas, was thought to be among the worst-hit areas. Images of the town revealed leveled homes, badly damaged cars, uprooted trees and downed power lines. The National Weather Service reported three tornadoes across Montague and Hood counties. 

Storm surveys to determine the extent of the damage were planned for Hood, Johnson, Montague, and Parker counties on Thursday, the weather service’s Dallas-Fort Worth office announced.  Nearly forty patients were taken to Lake Granbury Medical Center and 18 discharged, with the majority of injuries including cuts, broken bones, and some head injuries. 

A total of eight patients were admitted to the emergency room at the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. Two of the patients were in critical condition as of 4 a.m. local time. The tornado outbreak was by far the year's deadliest, the weather service said. 

Prior to Wednesday night, there had been three fatal tornadoes this year, killing one person each in Georgia, Mississippi and eastern Texas. About 60 departures have been canceled and 70 flights diverted from Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport on Thursday morning, spokesman David Magana told the Associated Press. Time flies by, and today Adonis Heights is 5 months old and continue looking for more things that we can do to promote creativity in Second Life. To be honest, my finger is itchy to start building again, until my great team doing their best pulling my hands away from that reboot button to the extend they would say "Dae, don't you dare!". It was funny to see their reaction when the moment they heard me say "Hurmm I am bored, I want to build the sim again", the whole board room suddenly full with voices!

Adonis Heights continue to meet several great people in SL, having casual discussion and informal chat about what can we contribute and acknowledge the creative people in this virtual world. The fashion designers, the sim builders, furniture, home and prefab creators, entertainers and club owners, all of them work hard day and night despite the economic challenges we face today in Second Life. Things may get even tougher as Linden Labs announced that no outside currency trading allowed. What does that means? It means, L$ transaction Buy and Sell only can be done through Second Life L$ exchange and no longer allowed through 3rd party channel. Although this may not affect Adonis Heights directly, since we have been legitimately utilize the main channel as our daily transactions, however it may affect the community and will more or less affect some businesses. How critical the situation is? yet to be unfold.

Adonis Heights plan to organize an event to commemorate what we call as the creative industry in Second Life. As we continue to search for Adonis Heights Radio : Voice of Adonis, not only as the talent voice for our ads, those who want to have their music covers to be played on our radio, please do approach us and The Red Dot Arena of Stars is looking for new talents and new stars. Who knows soon we will introduce SL Virtual Reality show?.

Adonis Heights, at its level best finding ways to bring people across the grid together and interact harmoniously as ONE community through respect and moderation, without hate and discrimination, and putting aside the different tags on top of our avatar heads.

Adonis Heights, ONE name ONE vision

Adonis Heights Boys Academy sim is now officially known as Adonis Heights.

This initiative is inline with the group vision towards building one community through diversity. Adonis Heights will be used as the main brand for Adonis Heights Group, Home@Adonis, AH Radio, AH Concept Store & Adonis Heights Boys Academy, while the boys community for this group will be known as AdonisBoys.

Let us all hold hands together to create ONE value added community that is against discrimination or hate. Peace and Harmony.

New Landmark and New Network!

MAY 7th, 2013: Home@Adonis, the distinctive eco-modern sim property development by Adonis Heights Group has started the construction of a new tower that will soon be a new landmark in the region. The 80 meter high tower will be the new home for the group administration office with the estimated cost of L$8,000 will set another milestone in the group progressive development. Asked whether this new construction will affect the residence, Dae Parx, the Group Chief Executive mentioned the strategic planning during the early inception has taken into account the future expansion. No other property will be affected during this construction and the residents will have the opportunity to witness themselves the progress of this new landmark from the leisure of their home comfortably.

The tower design is more minimalist, concentrating on compact and functional architecture will attract more future ventures and expected to set a new trendsetter in sim property development in the grid. The tower is expected to be completed by end of May this year.

Adonis Heights Group have been seen to engage a talk with Club RA's owner as their consistent initiative to build a larger positive network. The Club will be re-launched today at 12 PM SLT at their new location in Temple of RA, Hidden Paradise. This new network will further strengthen Adonis Heights Group position within the community as a universal community hub. -The SL WRITERS-

Life is a Journey, An Introduction

Friends of Adonis Heights,

First of all, thank you for the support and encouragement given throughout the progress and development of our group The Adonis Heights.

I am sure, many of you still in the blue or wondering what is actually Adonis Heights? Are they another club or role-playing community in Second Life? or some shared with me their perception; another version of the brother group I used to manage before.

Adonis Heights Group is a whole new organization managed by several engaging and progressive personnel who dedicate their time and ideas towards community growth, especially for LGBT community in Second Life. 

Throughout the years I have been in Second Life (since 2007), I have seen sims come and go, group launched and closed, business rise and fall and the list goes on and on. This has lead me towards a question, what is the purpose of Second Life? The soul searching continue until I have been tested with the toughest decision making I have encountered in November 2012. That experience has open up my eyes that Second Life is more than just a role-playing sim, it has the potential to become the beacon of hope for value creation.

Personally, I always believe, each every individuals have the purpose or reason why they choose to create an account in Second Life. Either for social life, education, entertainment or to some, a space for virtual sex *coughs*. Whatever the reasons is, it always revolved around the the 2 qualities which are Creativity and Imagination.

As I continuously observe these 2 qualities hand-in-hand, I asked myself, why not we make something that can add value to a group of people that will engage their creativity and imagination ahead, instead of just thinking about the "pose balls"? Something that can be a new wave that will bring the community to a greater heights. This is when the idea to establish Adonis Heights comes into the picture.

I always have a dream about building an enclave that will be a place for people to gather and socialize harmoniously. It is a wonderful experience when I am able to meet with people from almost 30 countries gathering at Adonis Heights with different languages, different time-zones and different point of views. 

Adonis Heights is more than just a sim, it is a sanctuary for those who seeks peaceful place to hangout and share their passion to the world. I was surprised, when we have talented people who can sing live on voice, having an engaging conversation with each other and make full use of the technology to communicate openly without fear.

"Life is a Journey" post will be my personal sharing with everyone about the current issues and topics that will be focusing on community matters as well some insights on Adonis Heights development.

Be the Voice of Adonis!

Adonis Heights Radio, a premiere-quality dance radio station hosted by grid-famous DJ Rocky, is looking for on-air vocal talent!

We're looking for station ID talent to provide voice over and promotional spot voice talent. You've heard it before on your favorite top-quality radio stations: A sexy voice, a funny phrase... you name it, we're open to any possibility, but we want something uniquely Adonis Heights!

So how do you get involved? Send us your spot!

We're looking for five to seven second recordings that identify the radio station as "Adonis Boys Radio." To submit your talent, please use your best quality microphone and a silent room, and record your file as an MP3.

If you're into tech, we'd appreciate a 44.1 MHz sample rate @ 128 kpbs stereo MP3 file with a constant bit rate... but we're not terribly picky so long as we can open the thing!

If you need recording software, consider Audacity, a freely-downloadable platform for both PC and Mac.
